(HARRISBURG) – The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has awarded a grant in the amount of $58,400 to Penn Township, Snyder County, according to Senator John R. Gordner (R-27) and Representative David Rowe (R-85). The funding will be provided through DCNR’s Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
The grant will be utilized to further the development of an inclusive playground at East Snyder Park, Penn Township, Snyder County. The project includes the construction of comfort station and pedestrian walkway, installation of utilities, increased ADA access, landscaping, project sign and other related site improvements.
“I want to thank DCNR Secretary Cindy Dunn and her staff for seeing the merit in this project and providing some much-needed grant money to help make it a reality,” said Senator Gordner. “This important project is part of an ongoing effort to provide an all-inclusive recreational place for children of the area.”
The Community Conservation Partnerships program is funded through a variety of state and federal sources including the Keystone Park and Recreation Fund, the state Recreational Trails Fund, the Environmental Stewardship Fund and the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund.
