Gordner, Masser Announce State Grant for AOAA

(HARRISBURG) – The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has awarded a grant in the amount of $618,966 to the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) in Coal Township, Northumberland County, according to Senator John R. Gordner (R-27) and Representative Kurt A. Masser (R-107).  The funding will be provided through DCNR’s Community Conservation Partnerships Program.

The grant will be utilized for the construction of a box culvert under State Route 125, improved ADA access, landscaping, project sign and other related site improvements.

“I want to thank DCNR for partnering with AOAA on this project,” said Senator Gordner. “The results will make for a better and safer experience for all participants.”

The Community Conservation Partnerships program is funded through a variety of state and federal sources including the Keystone Park and Recreation Fund, the state Recreational Trails Fund, the Environmental Stewardship Fund and the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund.
