(HARRISBURG) – PennDOT has awarded a multimodal grant to the Warrior Run School District, according to Senator John R. Gordner (R-27) and Representative Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-108).
The grant, in the amount of $344,725, will be used to increase sight distance and improve safety of access at the campus of Warrior Run School District. It will lower the height of the roadway to eliminate a hump that is currently a hazard for drivers.
“The multimodal program was an important part of Act 89 when my colleagues and I passed it,” said Senator Gordner. “I am thankful that PennDOT saw the merits in this important project and chose to allocate these funds.”
“I want to congratulate Warrior Run for its successful application and I am excited that these funds will be provided to increase safety as the campus expands,” said Representative Culver.
Funds are made available through the Act 89 Multimodal Transportation Fund. Eligible projects include: Enhancement of roadways, bridges, transit facilities and park and ride facilities; sidewalk and crosswalk safety improvements; and other related issues.
