(HARRISBURG) – The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has awarded a grant to Columbia County, according to Senator John R. Gordner (R-27) and Representative David Millard (R-109). Through the support of both members, funds were made available by way of the Multimodal Transportation Fund program.
The grant, in the amount of $250,000, will be used for repairing the bridge on Utt Road over Green Creek in Greenwood Township. The current deck of the bridge is deteriorating due to water infiltration. The grant will allow for an overlay replacement with new reinforced concrete deck parapets. This is anticipated to add 30-40 years of life to the structure.
“I am pleased that the CFA recognized our advocacy for these grant funds,” said Senator Gordner. “Improving the structural integrity of the bridge will allow for the safe passage of local motorists well into the future.”
The CFA was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus programs.
