(HARRISBURG) – The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has awarded a grant to Autoneum North America, Inc. in Columbia County, according to Senator John R. Gordner (R-27) and Representative David R. Millard (R-109). Through the strong support of both members, funds were made available through the Alternative and Clean Energy program.
The grant, in the amount of $1,000,000, is planning to be utilized for the purchase and installation of a 2,000 kW combined heat and power system at their manufacturing plant in Bloomsburg. When completed, the new system will provide approximately 41% of the electrical usage and 67% of the steam usage annually for the plant.
“I am pleased that the CFA has awarded this significant grant,” said Senator Gordner. “Autoneum is a major employer in the Bloomsburg area, sustaining over 600 families, and is an incredible asset to the Bloomsburg community.”
“This grant can assist the company to pay for a new system that will allow Autoneum to run its plant in a more sustainable and efficient manner,” said Representative Millard. “By doing so, the Bloomsburg plant will continue to excel in a competitive international business market.”
The Commonwealth Financing Agency was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus programs.
