(HARRISBURG) – The funding has been approved by the State Department of Conservation and Natural resources through the Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
One grant, in the amount of $39,500, will help to cover the cost for further development of Nature Park. Work on the park will include the construction of a pavilion, adding a pedestrian walkway and a parking area, ADA access, landscaping and other related site improvements.
The second grant is in the amount of $133,000. These funds will assist the Borough in acquiring approximately 11 acres to be used for connectivity between Whispering Willows Park and Nature Park.
The Community Conservation Partnerships program is funded through a variety of state and federal sources including the Keystone Park and Recreation Fund, the state Recreational Trails Fund, the Environmental Stewardship Fund and the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund.
