The following is a list of bills and resolutions introduced in the 2017-2018 legislative session, including a brief description of the legislative intent and the most recent action that each bill has seen.


Senate Bills

SB 274 –  Amends The Professional Nursing Law to provide for certified registered nurse anesthetist designation.

SB 276 – Prohibits an employer from asking a prospective employee whether that person has ever been arrested when the arrest resulted in the charges being withdrawn or if there was a not guilty verdict.

SB 277 – Establishes an outer limit of 10 years for action by tax officers or political subdivisions to collect unpaid earned income taxes.

SB 365 –  Amends the Second Class Township Code to increase from $1,000 to $2,000 the fair market value threshold for personal property that can be sold by a Second Class Township without a bid process or via public auction.

SB 399 –  Clarifies that a Second Class Township Supervisor can hold both an elected and appointed position within the township as long as it is not prohibited elsewhere in statute.

SB 499 – Amends Title 61, relating to county board of inspectors in counties of the eighth class.

SB 668 – Amends the Optometric Practice and Licensure Act.

SB 676 – Addresses ongoing funding deficiencies in the Workers’ Compensation Uninsured Employers Guarantee Fund.

SB 764 – Creates a recreational vehicle (RV) specific law which would govern RV dealers, manufacturers, and salespeople.

SB 796 – Waives the change of address fee for CDL licensees whose address was changed by a governmental action.

SB 932 – Clarifies that 50% of a payment in-lieu of Social Security benefits for annuitants of the federal Civil Service Retirement System is not to be considered “income” when determining eligibility for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program.

SB 1022 – Reestablishes an exemption to state prevailing wage rates for certain federal housing grants.
