Senator Gordner Appointed to Statewide Technology Development Group

(Harrisburg) - - State Sen. John R. Gordner (R-27) has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority.  The BFTDA is one of the largest single state technology development programs in the nation.

The appointment was announced by Senate President Pro Tempore Robert C. Jubelirer (R-30).  Senator Gordner replaces former Senator Charles Dent, who was elected to the United States Congress.

Over the past five years, the Ben Franklin Technology Authority has approved nearly $2.4 million in technology grants for eleven area companies.

"The Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority Board includes public and private sector representatives experienced in business and technology programs," said Sen. Gordner.  "By investing in economic and community innovation through the latest technology, the Ben Franklin programs offer unique assistance to businesses, entrepreneurs, local governments and educators."

Senator Gordner previously served on the Ben Franklin Board when he was a member of the House of Representatives.
