FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Pre-Season Trout Stocking Lists Available from Senator John GordnerBLOOMSBURG - The calendar still says it's winter, but the first sign of spring is here according to Senator John R. Gordner – the availability of pre-season trout stocking lists by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. "Outdoor enthusiasts across Pennsylvania look forward to the 'great white fleet' of Fish and Boat Commission stocking trucks," said the Senator. "It's a sure sign that spring is coming and a great cure for cabin fever." Unlike in-season stockings, the Fish and Boat Commission announces the dates and times of the pre-season stockings. "Anglers enjoy the pre-season stockings, whether it's an opportunity to scout their favorite fishing holes or even help Commission personnel stock trout," said Senator Gordner. "It's also a great opportunity for mothers and fathers to take their children out into the field to get them interested in the upcoming trout season." Gordner said copies of the trout stocking lists are available at his district offices in Bloomsburg, Millersburg, Mount Carmel and Shamokin Dam. Office information can be found at www.senatorgordner.com Anglers may also find the stocking lists at the Fish and Boat Commission's website at www.fish.state.pa.us Trout season begins April 16 at 8:00 am. Anglers 16 and older must possess a valid 2005 Pennsylvania Fishing License and Trout Stamp to fish for trout. Pennsylvania's creel limit is five trout per day, and the fish must be at least seven inches in length. CONTACT: Todd B. Roup - (717) 787-8928 |
