October 11, 2011 - The Senate Labor and Industry Committee, chaired by
Senator Gordner, held a public hearing in Chambersburg on legislation to
amend the state's Prevailing Wage laws.

(R-Allegheny) for a bill signing ceremony to enact a major update to the
state's workers' compensation law. |

June 23, 2011 - Sen. Gordner participates in the bill signing for Senate
Bill 1006 which criminalizes the possession, sale and use of synthetic
drugs commonly known as 'bath salts'.

June 21, 2011 - Sen. Gordner, who serves as the Chairman of the Senate
Labor and Industry Committee, conducts a hearing to favorably recommend
Governor Tom Corbett’s nominee for Secretary of Labor and Industry,
Julia Hearthway, to the full Senate for a confirmation vote. |

May 24, 2011 - Sen. Gordner questions Department of Community and
Economic Development Secretary Alan Walker during a hearing of the
Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee on Governor
Tom Corbett’s plan for Partnerships for Regional Economic Performance
(PREP).

May 22, 2011 - Sen. Gordner meets with students and their advisor from
Selinsgrove High School. Sen. Gordner competed against the students at
Selinsgrove in the annual Stock Market Game Legislative Challenge
sponsored by EconomicsPennsylvania.

April 25, 2011 - Sen. Gordner participates in the bill signing ceremony
for Act 1 of 2011 which repeals the mandate that all newly built single
and double family homes include a sprinkler system. It also reforms the
process by which building code updates are considered and adopted in
Pennsylvania. |

March 16, 2011 - Sen. Gordner questions Budget Secretary Charles Zogby
about Governor Tom Corbett's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2011-12.
The hearing was conducted by the Senate Appropriations Committee as part
of a series of budget hearings which included all of the major
departments of state government.

March 3, 2011 - Sen. Gordner participates in the groundbreaking for the
new Milton Public Library at Rose Hill. Sen. Gordner helped secure $1
million in state funding for the project. |

March 1, 2011 - Sen. Gordner poses on the Senate floor with the members
of the 2010 PIAA Class A Pennsylvania state championship girls soccer
team from Warrior Run High School, Lewis Township, Northumberland
County. The team was awarded with a congratulatory citation by the full
Senate. This is the first PIAA state championship for the Warrior Run
School District.
