(HARRISBURG) – There will be an official dedication ceremony for the Edward W. Helfrick Resource Management Center at 1:00pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. The ceremony will be held at the Center office, located at 16 Weiser Lane, Aristes (off of SR 42).
Senator Helfrick served as a state Senator from the 27th District from 1981 to 2003. While he was involved with numerous projects during his decades in office, Senator Helfrick’s last major accomplishment was the transfer of land from a private company to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to establish the Roaring Creek Tract of the Weiser State Forest.
This designation was passed by the General Assembly through Act 8 of 2016.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Secretary Cindy Dunn, State Senator John R. Gordner and other dignitaries will be in attendance.
