(HARRISBURG) – Middleburg Borough, Snyder County has been awarded a $978,500 grant through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) to assist in making improvements to its storm sewer system, according to Senator John R. Gordner (R-27).
The grant will allow the Borough to install storm sewers along Willow Avenue, West Oak Street, Pine Street, Thomas Avenue and East Market Street. It will include 5,100 feet of new storm sewers, 32 storm water inlets and 1,360 feet of channel improvement.
“This grant is a big deal for the residents of Middleburg,” said Senator Gordner. “These funds will allow them to carry out an essential project that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to do.”
PENNVEST offers grants and low interest loans to assist municipalities with sewer, storm water and drinking water projects. The program is designed to contribute to the long-term health of Pennsylvanians, while also fostering economic growth at the same time.
